Welcome to billupsart.com!

09 Aug

Hello and welcome to BillupsArt.com, home of The Building.  We are an artist collective built by artists, for artists.  The Building is comprised of seven working artist studios with the likes of artists such as Anthony Billups, Open Road Vagabond Thrift, Molly Rose Jewelry, KB Art Promotions and Sabrina Langlois.  Our studios are currently filled, but when available are open to any and all artists.

Located in the heart of East Nashville, Nashville’s right brain, Billups Art (The Building) has been dubbed “creative ground zero (Nashville Scene).”  The Building plays host to all sorts of events both private and public.  “We just try to have as many events as possible, in order to always have fresh eyes coming in to see our artists’ work.  Its a collective celebration of creativity, almost on a nightly basis.  We are all artists and musicians and believe that music is art and do our best to present both as much as possible,” says Anthony Billups, founder and co-owner.

The Building has become known for its collective events such as Open Road Mondays, Hits N Giggles, Billups Art Fairs and has helped create ArtEast (East Nashville’s Art Stroll).  Co-Owner and creator of Open Road Mondays, David Oakleaf says “We have done our best to create events that anyone can come in and join us and also provide a space for people to create and host their own ideas and events as well.”

Michael Tellinger

27 Jul

Press release: South African bestselling author on tour in the USA 26 Aug – 22 Oct 2010.

First Civilisation on Earth Discovered in Southern Africa

Scientist, explorer and author of three internationally acclaimed books, Michael Tellinger is on tour of the USA from 26th Aug to 22nd October 2010, presenting his latest research into the origins of humankind. Tellinger has turned all of history on its head and delivers astonishing evidence that the first civilisation on Earth existed in southern Africa.

Scholars have told us that the first civilisation on Earth emerged in a land called Sumer some 6000 years ago. The persistent research by South Africans Michael Tellinger, Johan Heine and a team of leading scientists, over an extend seven-year period, has resulted in astonishing new archaeological and scientific discoveries. It shows that the Sumerians and even the Egyptians inherited most their knowledge from an earlier advanced civilisation that lived at the southern tip of Africa more than 200,000 years ago… mining gold.

These were also the people who carved the first Horus bird, the first Sphinx, built the first pyramids and built an accurate stone calendar right in the heart of it all. They call it Adam’s Calendar. It is the flagship among millions of circular stone ruins, ancient roads, agricultural terraces and thousands of ancient mines, left behind by a vanished civilisation of many millions, which they now call the FIRST PEOPLE. These were the ancestors of all humans today with an advanced knowledge of energy fields through planet Earth and harnessing sound frequency as an energy source.

They carved detailed images into the hardest rock, worshipped the sun, and are the first to carve an image of the Egyptian Ankh – key of life and universal knowledge, 200,000 years before the Egyptians came to light. Tellinger will be presenting this groundbreaking new evidence in 25 venues around the USA, which is contained in his latest book Temples Of The African Gods. It graphically exposes these discoveries and will undoubtedly be the catalyst for rewriting our ancient human history. The new release is a continuation of Tellinger’s previous books Slave Species of god and Adam’s Calendar, which have become favourites with readers in over 20 countries.
